DeafBlind Potter YouTube Comments Assistant Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

DeafBlind Potter, part of Living Beyond the Label, operates this service. Privacy questions and data requests may be sent to lbl@deafblindpotter.com.

Current status

The ongoing production connection to Google is currently disabled. The initial service is intended to verify the DeafBlindPotter Shorts channel and read recent comments and existing replies for owner review. It will not post, edit, or delete YouTube content.

During an owner-authorized setup test, three recent comment threads were retrieved and reported in an owner-controlled ChatGPT conversation for diagnosis; the returned sample contained no inline replies. There is no active automated production connector sending comments to ChatGPT or OpenAI today.

Data the service may access

When authorized, the service may access:

  • YouTube channel identity;
  • video, comment, and reply identifiers;
  • author display names;
  • comment and reply text;
  • publication times and like counts; and
  • reply relationships and pagination information.

The service uses this information to confirm the correct channel, present comments and existing replies for review, assist with owner-authorized reply drafting if that feature is later enabled, and help prevent duplicate replies.

Google permission disclosure

Google describes the requested youtube.force-ssl permission as allowing the application to view, edit, and permanently delete YouTube videos, ratings, comments, and captions. The initial DeafBlind Potter service will use that permission only for channel verification and read-only comment retrieval. A future reply feature would require a separate deployment and owner approval.

Future drafting and reply support

AI-assisted drafting and live reply sending are not currently deployed. If these features are added, selected comments may be sent to OpenAI to help the owner prepare a draft. No reply will be sent without an exact owner approval. The public policy will be updated if the deployed data handling materially changes.

OpenAI processing

The limited setup-test comments described above were processed in ChatGPT when they were reported for diagnosis. If an automated ChatGPT connection is later enabled, selected comments, metadata, and reply drafts would also be processed by OpenAI for display and drafting assistance. OpenAI processing and retention are governed by the applicable ChatGPT account or workspace terms and settings. Server-side deletion periods do not delete ChatGPT conversations.

Retention

  • Keep comment text out of server logs.
  • Remove unapproved drafts from the server after 7 days.
  • Remove completed reply text from the server after 30 days.
  • Retain only the minimal identifiers, hashes, outcomes, and timestamps needed to prevent duplicate replies after completed text is removed.

These are planned server-side controls and are not active today. No automatic deletion process currently enforces these periods. They do not delete YouTube comments or ChatGPT conversation history. A specific OpenAI retention period is not stated because it depends on the applicable ChatGPT account or workspace settings.

Sharing and service providers

The service exchanges authorization and YouTube data with Google to perform the requested YouTube operations. If the proposed ChatGPT tool connection is later enabled, selected comments and drafts would also be processed by OpenAI as described above. Server and network providers may process data as needed to operate and secure the service. The service does not represent that data remains only on DeafBlind Potter systems or that Google is the only service provider.

Revocation and deletion requests

The Google Account owner may revoke the application's access through Google Account permissions. Revocation stops future authorized API access but does not itself delete data already processed by Google, DeafBlind Potter, OpenAI, or other service providers.

Requests concerning data held by DeafBlind Potter may be sent to lbl@deafblindpotter.com. Some limited records may need to be retained for security, legal compliance, or duplicate prevention.

Security

The temporary setup test used access controls and an exact channel-identity check. Before production is reconnected, the service is intended to use corresponding controls to limit access to the authorized channel and protect Google authorization data. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Policy changes

This policy may be updated when the service's data use, providers, retention, or YouTube capabilities materially change. The date at the top will show the latest revision.
